Organiser’s comments

What a glorious day at Rishworth Moor!
This made the event much more pleasant for both competitors and organisers alike.

I would like to thank on your behalf the landowners Yorkshire Water and their tenants and commoners for their generous permission to use the area. Mr Alistair Harvey their Countryside & Recreation Manager was key to this and the consent from Natural England.

The courses seemed popular with everyone I spoke to and the shorter courses around the reservoir were particularly appreciated by beginners and those with small children.

The weather no doubt contributed to our higher than expected number of entries on the day which caused a shortage of maps on certain courses. Our apologies go to those who were unable to run their preferred course; we hope it did not spoil your enjoyment of the event.
Our thanks go to those competitors who recycled their maps to enable someone else to use them. We will endeavour to return their maps to them if they have requested this.

Naturally I wish to thank everyone who volunteered to help at the event.
First and foremost Graham LLoyd our Planner conceived the idea of starting from the northern side and mapping the area around Baitings reservoir for the shorter courses. He also identified just about the only suitable location for the assembly area. His course planning seems to have gone down well too!
As a novice Event Organiser I could not have managed without the encouragement enthusiasm and sheer hard work of Alistair Tinto.
Thank you also to our Controller Tony Carlyle of AIRE and all our volunteers including my non-orienteering best friend David Taylor.

There was just one item handed in as lost property a grey/green reversible hat with "coolthermal" embroidered on it, which will be returned if reclaimed.
