Event Info

The 2026 EPOC club champs is the final part of the club's 50th Birthday celebration weekend.
Following the success of previous years, a handicap system based on age class and BO ranking position will be used to determine the 2026 club champions.

Courses have been planned to only use the best parts of Ogden Water and do not use the open moorland.

Directions / Car Parking

Parking in the car parks off Odgen Lane. Access from A629 Keighley Road 3 miles north of Ovenden, Halifax. £1 contribution in honesty box. If the car parks are full you may need to park on the grass verge on Syke lane (return up Ogden Lane to the A629, cross the A629 onto Syke Lane). Please allow time to find a parking space. Start times are limited: 11.00 to 11.30.

Indoor assembly inside the Ogden Water Classroom at the north end of the reservoir dam wall.

Toilets next to classroom.

Start at west end of car park.
No need to register you may go straight to the start.

Finish on reservoir dam wall.

Course Information

You may enter any course you wish, however to be considered for the club championship Males must run the Long course and Females must run the Medium course.
The Short course has been planned to be similar to Orange course standard.

Important Information

Safety and Risk: A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.

Insurance: From 1st January 2026, participants who are not members of British Orienteering will no longer be covered by British Orienteering’s public liability insurance. By entering any event from 1st January 2026, you acknowledge that you are taking part at your own risk. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered. British Orienteering’s public liability insurance used to cover non-members at events before this date.
