Safety: All courses cross a road that can be busy at times. This will be crossed at a zebra crossing and timed out (maximum 1 minute) with a control shortly before and one shortly after the crossing. There will be a marshall present to ensure that juniors cross safely. It would be appreciated if juniors can start as early as possible to allow the marshall to help elsewhere.

Additionally, all courses cross minor residential roads where there are parked cars and the possibility of slow-moving traffic. It is unlikely there will be traffic on the university campus but care should be taken at all times nonetheless.

Usual urban hazards apply such as other people, steps, kerbs, street debris and low height overhangs such as vegetation, staircases, building canopies etc. Please also take care running round corners to avoid collisions.

MapRun:
In addition to the sprint courses, we are offering 2 MapRun courses for anyone who wants a second run. These are around Huddersfield town centre, with the start and finish close to the main base on the university campus. The MapRun will have the usual urban hazards, including moving traffic, so we recommend that juniors under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Maps will need to be collected from Enquiries.
