Event Info

Meltham is a small town in the Holme Valley dating back to prehistoric times. It is situated between Marsden, Slaithwaite and Holmfirth.

Directions / Car Parking

The event centre is the Meltham Scout Hut, Huddersfield Road, Meltham HD9 4AN. where download and toilets will be situated.

Parking is at Camira Fabrics, Meltham Mills Road. HD9 4FA. The car park entrance is off Bent Ley Road. Please be directed by marshalls.

Courses start and finish in The Robert Ashton Park opposite the Scout Hut.

Buses 323 and 324 leave Huddersfield bus station at the following times on Sundays and stop outside the park.

324: 9.10, 10.10 and 11.10
323: 9.40, 10.40 and 11.40
The journey takes about 20minutes.

Entries on Racesignup: Fees: Senior £10 (non-BOF £12) Young Adult (21-25) £7.50 Junior £5 Dibber hire:£1 (non-contactless) Standard entries close at midnight on Sunday 28th June. Late entries available, subject to map numbers, until noon on Friday 3rd July with a surcharge of £2-senior, £1.50-YA and £1-junior.

Important Information

Insurance: From 1st January 2026, participants who are not members of British Orienteering will no longer be covered by British Orienteering’s public liability insurance. By entering any event from 1st January 2026, you acknowledge that you are taking part at your own risk. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered. British Orienteering’s public liability insurance used to cover non-members at events before this date.
