Planner’s comments
Thank you all for coming along on Sunday - early starters certainly benefited from the more benign weather conditions!
I got some very good feedback about the courses which as a planner certainly makes all the effort worthwhile.
It's the first time we've used the southern part of Richard Payne's Halifax map so as you will have experienced, it was less intricate but opened up the possibility of longer legs to test route choice and running ability.
I think planners tend to plan according to their own preferences and for me orienteering, urban or otherwise is about the running with added navigation (but I fully appreciate that for others, it's the other way round!)
I thought Jean did a fantastic job as organiser (first time she's taken on this role but hopefully not the last).
Thanks to Charlie who is always a really thoughtful, supportive and fully committed controller. Thanks to all EPOC helpers and special mention to Alistair, Jackie and Phil who helped collect controls in that filthy afternoon weather.
