Terrain: Urban terrain, mostly on pavements, around residential areas.
The original name for Golcar was "Guthlac's Scar" where Guthlac preached to the masses on the hillside. The oldest part of the village (Victorian or older) is on the steep south facing hillside. Most of the residents were weavers working at home. Here are many cobbled lanes and ginnels which can be slippery when wet. All courses except F and G visit this area. Course F only crosses estate roads. Course G only crosses one road, a quiet cul de sac. The adult courses cross the one Broad which divides the older part of Golcar from the newer. All the roads on the area of the map are in a 30mph limit.
