Access to the cricket club is through the Pledwick Well Inn carpark. Registration will be in the cricket club pavilion. The pavilion also has changing facilities. There will be an O sign at the entrance to the Pledwick Inn. Proceed through the car park to the Cricket Club and follow marshalls directions. The parking camera is no longer in use and fees have been removed so there is no need to input registration numbers on arrival – you will not get a parking fine! In the unlikely event we run out of parking space, overflow parking will be on nearby streets, e.g Pledwick Lane.

Thank you to the Pledwick Cricket Club for being so welcoming and helpful with the use of their facilities. Thanks also to the Pledwick Inn for allowing us to use their car park.

Public Transport – Sandal & Agbrigg train station is 2 miles away. There are a number of buses running close to the event including 59, 59A, 96, 97, 106, 107 - see Bus Maps and guides | Metro (wymetro.com) for details.

Toilets: Will be available in the cricket club pavilion.

Registration: 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Masks/Face Coverings – In line with updated government guidance, please wear a face covering when accessing the buildings.

Terrain: Newmillerdam is a country park owned and managed by Wakefield Council. Much of it is mature woodland with a good path network. The friends of Newmillerdam have installed a number of carved statues (gnomes and a large bear). These may be passed on the courses and are shown on the map as “manmade object”.

There are some unmapped paths that appear randomly and some paths are partially hidden by leaves. Some areas of green hashed undergrowth can be seasonal and shouldn’t be used for precise navigation.
The top of 2 crags are taped, please don’t attempt to cross these tapes.

Some lines between controls are broken or bent to avoid hiding paths and other features.  Also we are using a narrow part of the wood where the courses go in each direction so please check carefully where your next control is

Start: 5pm to 6pm. Aproximately 600m from the carpark entrance. Start times will not be allocated. Please go to the start when you are ready.

The route to the start and return from the finish can be viewed here

Start & Finish: Please follow the taped route to the start and returning from the finish. Please allow 10 mins walking time to get to the start. The route to and from the start/finish crosses a busy road so please take care and be vigilant when crossing. Parents, please ensure any juniors are made aware of this crossing and young juniors must be supervised by an adult. You need to cross to the other (east) side near the entrance to the pub where there is a clear view in both directions.

Punching: Si Punching. SIAC touch free Punching will be enabled.  Competitors must punch the Start and Finish.
