There will be a patrolled road crossing for courses F and G.
Competitors may wear shorts and short sleeved tops but footwear with a good tread pattern is recommended as cobbled roads and alleyways can be very slippery when wet. Competitors should also be aware that there will be members of the general public walking in the area and corners should be negotiated wide and slow.
Roads marked with pink hashing indicating ‘out of bounds’, crossed by courses A and B, must only be crossed using the underpasses indicated.
Juniors on course G will be able to pick up and view their map at the Start before starting their course.
For First Aid cover please enquire at Assembly/Download.
Nearest A and E is at Calderdale Royal Hospital, Acre Street, Halifax HX3 3EA
Unaccompanied juniors are only allowed on courses F and G. There will be two patrolled road crossings for these courses for extra safety.
All competitors must download, even if they do not complete the course.
In the event of bad weather, the organisers may insist that cagoules be worn. Please bring one to the event with you.
Safety: A comprehensive risk assessment will be carried out by the organiser, but competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. All competitors who start must report to download even if they retire. In the unlikely event of cancellation, details will be posted on the EPOC website – www.eastpennineoc.org.uk Information can also be obtained by emailing the organiser.
If you have a medical condition that first aiders should know about in an emergency, please contact the organiser with details before the event in confidence. These details will only be used for the purposes of this event and will be deleted/destroyed afterwards.
Insurance: Please note that if you are not a member of an orienteering club affiliated to British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance except if you are a newcomer to orienteering, in which case you are covered for three registered orienteering events without joining.
