The event centre is at Ossett Academy, Storrs Hill Road, Ossett, WF5 0DG.

Toilets: Located at the Academy. There will be no toilets available after you leave the Academy to go to the start.
Terrain: Typical urban terrain with road crossings, housing estates and parkland
Entries: via Racesignup.
Fees: £9 Senior, £5 Juniors. Dibber Hire £1
Starts: 10:30-12:00 Juniors are requested to start between 10.30 and 11.30 to assist with the manned road crossing
Start and Finish are located in Green Park playing fields. The routes will be taped and are approximately 800m and 650m respectively from the event centre.
Courses close: 1.30pm. If you expect to take a long time then please start early. If you finish after courses close you will be disqualified.
Punching : SI Punching. SIAC touch free punching will be enabled. Competitors must punch Start and Finish.
Maps: 1:4000 waterproof paper. Map drawn and surveyed in 2022 by Richard Payne. Loose control descriptions will be available in the start lanes.
Courses 1-6 have double sided maps at A3. Course 7 is single sided at A4.
Course 6 has a timed out road crossing to allow juniors to cross a busy road at a pedestrian crossing. They will cross here twice and there are controls either side that must be punched.

To count in the YHOA Urban League , competitors must enter the appropriate course for their age group.

Competitors should also be aware that there will be members of the general public walking in the area and corners should be negotiated wide and slow.
All competitors must download, even if they do not complete the course.
If the weather is wet some of the surfaces can be extremely slippery, so great care should be taken.
Safety: A comprehensive risk assessment will be carried out by the organiser, but competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. All competitors who start must report to download even if they retire. In the unlikely event of cancellation, details will be posted on the EPOC website – www.eastpennineoc.org.uk Information can also be obtained by emailing the organiser.
If you have a medical condition that first aiders should know about in an emergency, please contact the organiser with details, before/at the event before your run, in confidence. These details will only be used for the purposes of this event and will be deleted/destroyed afterwards.
Insurance: Please note that if you are not a member of an orienteering club affiliated to British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance except if you are a newcomer to orienteering, in which case you are covered for three registered orienteering events without joining. Please ask any of our club officials for more information if you would like to join EPOC.
