*Please note there is no White course as the area doesn’t lend itself to the technical difficulty. The Yellow course is at the upper end of TD2 difficulty and parents should shadow their children if neccessary.
*Please note there will be no legend on the map. Only special features will be shown.
All competitors must download, even if they do not complete the course.
Safety: Please note that cagoules may be compulsory on the day depending on the weather. Please dress appropriately for December, it will be cold and potentially wet. It is recommended to carry a whistle. An emergency contact number is available on the map. Please be aware that there will be slow moving traffic around the main entrance to the park so please take care crosssing roads in the park.
If the weather is wet some of the surfaces can be extremely slippery, so great care should be taken. A comprehensive risk assessment will be carried out by the organiser, but competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. All competitors who start must report to download even if they retire. In the unlikely event of cancellation, details will be posted on the EPOC website – www.eastpennineoc.org.uk Information can also be obtained by emailing the organiser.
If you have a medical condition that first aiders should know about in an emergency, please contact the organiser with details, before/at the event before your run, in confidence. These details will only be used for the purposes of this event and will be deleted/destroyed afterwards.
Insurance: Please note that if you are not a member of an orienteering club affiliated to British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance except if you are a newcomer to orienteering, in which case you are covered for three registered orienteering events without joining.
